Welcome to our website!

Aveley Methodist Church is situated on a former Greater London Council housing estate. The church was founded in 1952 when the estate was still being built. The original building on the site was a workmens hut used by the builders as their canteen which doubled on Sundays as our church.
Our current building was built in the early sixties and was designed to be used as a general purpose, community building. This means that the rear half of the church is divided off and used as a hall for the community during the rest of the week.

Our congregation is spirit led; our mission is to serve the community in which we have grown and are growing. Our service on Sundays is at 11am for approximately one hour followed by tea, coffee and a chat for those who wish to stay a while. Our Sunday school meets in the afternoon at 3pm
